Sebuah patung Buddha kuno setinggi 73 cm berusia 700 tahun di Jepang telah ditemukan berisi kumpulan gulungan misterius dan artefak, dan para peneliti tidak tahu apa yang mungkin sebenarnya ada di dalam.

Yang mengejutkan ternyata dalam patung itu berisi hampir 200 objek, dengan 30-40 buah disembunyikan di dalam kepala, dan 150 buah sisanya berada di bagian tubuhnya.
Patung itu ditemukan memiliki rongga dari ujung kepala sampai ujung kaki. Banyak dari benda-benda itu tampak seperti gulungan, dan tidak ada bukti bahwa patung itu pernah dibuka.
"Dengan artefak di dalam tubuhnya, patung itu benar-benar istimewa, ”kata Shigeki Iwata, ketua penelitian khusus di Museum Nasional Nara, kepada NHK. "Penemuan ini secara historis berharga dan telah meningkatkan nilainya sebagai aset budaya."
